We read a brilliant story called The Rubbish Monster in class. We loved it!!! We thought it was so funny, the monster loved to eat rubbish! We did loads of art around this story including chalk drawings of The Rubbish Monster and clay figures of The Rubbish Monster. We had great fun using our imaginations to show what we think The Rubbish Monster looks like. We all came up with great ideas. Have a look at our wonderful work below. Our teacher thinks it's some of our best work this year!!!

Well done to two of the boys from First Class. They both won medals at a Taekwondo competition over the weekend. The class loved listening to them telling us about the experience and they asked some great questions!!! The boys did a fantastic job explaining it all to us!!!
On Tuesday (17th December) one of the children in the class brought in a big bag of carrots for Roger, so we went down to give him one to eat. We also wanted to see if he had settled into his new home! Take a look!!! On Saturday 30th November the Enrolment Ceremony took place for the boys and girls preparing for their First Penance and First Holy Communion next year. It was a very special evening, with parents and children involved! Rusnius and his dad brought up the bread and wine. Alex's mam read the communion reflection and Callum's mam presented the certificates of enrolment. Calum, Jamie, Layla, Kyle, Jasmine, Scott and Callum read the prayers of the faithful. WELL DONE to all!!!
For the last five weeks the children in First Class have been participating in the Junior Achievement Programme. This involved somebody from a local business coming in to explore the theme of 'Our Families' with the children. Friday 13th December marked the end of this programme and was a special day as the children were all presented with their certificates of participation.
On Wednesday 11th December First Class went to the local church for mass. Many of the children brought food to donate to the food appeal in the church. It was lovely to see the children thinking of others, especially at this time of year.
Welcome to our school Roger Rabbit.
Yesterday Roger Rabbit arrived in our school. We saw him when we were going home at 2.30pm. Today, our teacher brought us down to meet Roger Rabbit for the first time. We all got to rub him! He was so soft and cuddly. He loved it and so did we!!! We think he is the best rabbit EVER!"!!! We hope Roger Rabbit likes it here!!! Class Dojo is a huge success in our classroom. We are getting loads of points each day from our teacher for positive behaviour, which is great!!! Calum, Jamie, Yan, Lucy, Sophie, Callum, Kaylan, Johnas, Kye, Jasmine, Layla, Scott, Abbie and Rusnius have all chosen a prize from the prize box already!
This week we have had great fun designing and decorating different moustaches. These will be put up around East Wall to help raise awareness about Men's Health throughout the month of November. We were happy to take part as it is for such a worthy cause. See if you can see any of our moustaches around East Wall and let us know!!! |
