One hundred years ago today, over 60 families were evicted from Merchant's Road, East Wall by the Dublin Warehouse Company because they had joined the unions. 5th an 6th class went to Merchant's Road today to look at the mural the East Wall History Group commissioned by Arthur the Artist to commemorate the event. Even though we were freezing, we really enjoyed the trip and learned lots about life in East Wall during the lockout.
We have written diary entries based on what we learned and we will upload these shortly.
