The theme for Science Week this year was Climate Action (with a focus on understanding climate change, how science and technology can help us create a positive climate future, and the impact we as individuals can have on climate change). We set up lots of science stations in 5th class on Friday, and many of our experiments were linked to climate change and our ever changing weather. We made a real cloud in a jar, created a tornado in a bottle, explored water density and rising sea levels, and we examined the dangers of using non-recyclable plastics. We also had lots of fun building some rockets, making lava lamps, exploring surface tension, testing various items for starch, and we even set up a clock powered by just a potato!! Cleaning up at the end of the day. . . not so fun!
