Green Schools in the past in our school
Green school update: Summer 2015 We have achieved so much in the last two months with Green Schools! In front of the notice board you will see Jeff, our new battery bin made out of 100% recyclable materials. Big congratulations to the Green Schools Art and Garden Club for making Jeff! The creativity from the boys in 5th and 6th class was fantastic! We are also fixing up our front garden so it can look nice for the opening of our school yard and the raising of the St Joseph’s first ever Green Flag for litter and waste! Children from third, fifth and sixth class were very busy tiding up the garden getting rid of all of the weeds. We are going to rake the soil next week and plants lovely new flowers. Our garden is going to looks great! A huge well done to fourth class and junior infants for winning ‘Green Class of the Month’! Keep up the great work of recycling and have as little as possible into the ‘Everything Else’ bin. |
Miss Kennedy and three members of the Green Schools Committee went to DCU to collect our Green Flag. A huge well done to Jade, Emma and Kyle for representing our school. They did the school proud. We hope that our school will continue to recycle the right way and try not to be wasteful.
A huge well done to the teachers, parents and staff for making it possible to get the green flag for our school. We would not have got it if it was not for everyone pulling together to make it happen. We can't wait to have an opening ceremony in June for the raising of our flag and to begin working next year to achieve another flag!!! |
