In 6th class we used the work of Wassily Kandinsky to inspire our creative pieces. Kandinsky’s Squares with Concentric Circles perhaps, Kandinsky's most recognisable work, is a small study on how different colour combinations are perceived. For Kandinsky, colour meant more than just a visual component of a picture. Colour is its soul. In his books, he described his own perspective on how colours interacted with each other and with the spectator in detail and very poetically. Kandinsky was a synaesthete, i.e. he could ‘hear colours’ and ‘see sounds.’
We sketched our trees using pencil and then carefully painted the circles. We then used coloured tissue to finish off our trees
